Institutional Acquisitions
Observerist works are uniquely suited to science institutions, universities, and research organisations. Each painting is both a significant artwork and a physical embodiment of the mathematics it depicts.
Why Observerism Belongs in Your Institution
Observerist paintings are not decorative. They are structural translations of quantum optics into oil on canvas. The OAM spirals in the periphery are Laguerre-Gaussian beam modes — the same mathematical objects studied in photonics laboratories worldwide.
For a physics department, a science museum, or a research university, these works occupy a unique position: they are simultaneously exhibition-grade fine art and precise visual representations of beam physics. They generate conversation between disciplines and demonstrate that rigorous science and serious art are not separate domains.
The Scientist Series adds a further dimension: each portrait depicts a physicist whose research concerns the nature of observation itself, creating a direct conceptual link between the subject, the viewer, and the mathematical structure of the painting.
Collection Precedent
The Observer of National Science (180 × 120 cm, oil on canvas, 2025) was acquired by Dr Alan Finkel AC, Australia's former Chief Scientist. This acquisition established Observerist work within the collection of one of Australia's most prominent science leaders.
